KAWUN INSTITUTE OF HIGHER EDUCATION, NORTHERN AFGHANITAN is the Afghanistan’s high-access public institute of choice. KIHE serves the Northern Region with standard-equipped educational campus located in Mazar-e-Sharif, Balkh – Afghanistan. With a growing enrolment, the KIHE attracts students from throughout the region, as well as from other regions of the country. Faculty members: The university faculties are equipped with extensive teaching and research experience– they are expected to bring the knowledge that is gained throughout their professional career into the classroom providing students with a stimulating environment. In a country like Afghanistan, higher education is perceived as extremely important tool of getting good jobs, better lifestyles and prosperous living environments. Currently, Afghanistan is highly in demand of skilled and professional human resources in order to further the living condition and generate the income sources – to this extend KIHE as a center of excellence, straggles to underway programs with innovative and uniquely hands-on approach to the enrolled students of this center of excellence and prepare them to be technical workforce for the country and fulfill the gap that needs to be covered.
Mohammad Sharif Samsor
Mohammad Sharif Samsor (MPPA) is appointed as the President of the Kawun Institute of Higher Education. Mr. Samsor has done his bachelor in Psychology from Kabul University and holds a Masters Degree in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Washington. It is worth mentioning that his more than 12 years of work experience equipped him with a multitude of skills, and he would like to continue to expand on his experience by working as the President of the Kawun Institute of Higher Education.
Mr. Samsor worked for UNDP in a research capacity, and contributed to the 3rd Afghan National Human Development Report. He also had been involved in conducting a MULRTIPART research project that was designed by a team of European Universities. The research was designed to find out how the four huge stakeholders 1) Micro-finance Program (MISFA) 2) National Solidarity Program (NSP) 3) DIAG 4) Action Plan (AP) the transitional justice in Afghanistan, have had positive impact in the country.
The campus of Kawun Institute of Higher Education is located in Balkh province of Afghanistan, located in the north of the country. The population of this province is estimated over 1.5 million, which is multi-ethnic.
